Ken Lee Biography
Ken started as a
part-time employee for United Parcel Service while in college 35 years ago, and
is currently the Vice-President of Security US Operations for UPS¡X the first
Asian American to attain the title of vice-president and is one of the highest
ranking Asians at UPS. He is a
leading activist for Asian community affairs at UPS, and serves as a mentor and
role model for other Asian employees and serves on the UPS corporate diversity
committee. He has also been instrumental in advocating and educating his peers
and superiors about the benefits of hiring and promoting more APAs at all
levels and in all areas throughout the company. In 1997, Ken was selected by United Parcel Service (UPS) to
be the recipient of the OCA National Asian American Corporate Achievement
Award.
Ken has served as the VP
of Chapter Development and Economic Development for the past 6 years for OCA as
well as the local Georgia Chapter President from 1999 to 2000 when Atlanta
hosted the 2000 OCA National Convention.
Passion with the motto of ¡§Embracing the hopes and aspirations of Asian
American in America¡¨ he has participated as panelist and moderator of many
events describing the pitfalls and successes of working in Corporate America.
Besides OCA, Ken is also
active with other community organizations in the Georgia area. He is serving as the advisor for the
local fund-raising charity "Chopstix for Charity" aimed at raising
money for Asian human service organizations in the Metro Atlanta area. He is currently a member of the board
OCA GA, and works closely with the National Association of Asian American
Professionals (NAAAP). He also
serves on the US Pan Asian American Chamber of Commerce (USPAACC).
Born and raised in San
Francisco, California, Ken¡¦s grandparents emigrated from the suburbs of
Guangzhou, China in the early 1900s.
